Eleanor was the consummate professor, special educator, and human being. She was so knowledgeable regarding the content and methods used by great teachers. Totally committed to and caring towards children and youth with disabilities, university students, colleagues, family, and friends. She radiated love and concern for all, every where she went. When you met Eleanor you immediately felt that you were her life long friend. I will especially miss her smile. She will be greatly missed by all of us but her contributions will long be remembered. Sheldon: Thanks for letting us know about the passing of our friend, colleague, and leader... the lovely lady we knew as Eleanor, and others as Dr. G. . As an anxious new professor and conference attendee/presenter, this renowned person in the field of behavioral disorders provided me with support and guidance. I benefited greatly from her mentorship and strong belief in my potential. Over the years, I would discover that she mentored many others who were moving into leadership positions. . I was fortunate to have shared dinners and presented sessions with her... there was always good-natured humor intertwined with the seriousness of the issues under consideration. (Ask me sometime about our post-martini lunch conference session in which we presented ridiculously false data to prove improbable points and irreproducible results... What a hoot!) . Eleanor was an stellar individual, personally and professionally. Her bubbly personality was accompanied by a serious advocacy mission for youngsters with emotional and behavioral disorders (and those who serve them). Her guiding light in legal and organizational efforts; sometimes subtle, other times pronounced, advanced our field of study and practice. . Sharp mind, quick wit, and heart of gold… Eleanor positively impacted the lives of so many; colleagues, future teachers, and learners with mental health and behavior challenges.

The new web site is terrific. As for Snowmass memories, I'll never forget the karaoke nite, the guitarist was a hoot, and we'll never forget Sheldon on stage, Howard Muscott and crew singing Motown, and I enjoyed playing Mick Jagger with Francie Murry on "your so vain". Oh yes - the professional presentations were wonderful, the mile high atmosphere lovely, keep hydrating was our mantra. Would love to go back - maybe Adol. Conf. 2014??? Best, Doug
