The primary mission of the Behavioral Institute for Children and Adolescents is
to provide training opportunities that contribute to improved services for
troubled youth. The Institute seeks to sponsor and encourage the dissemination
of effective research and evidence-based training programs. Individuals or
groups are invited to submit training programs for consideration and potential
sponsorship. Proposals will be reviewed for adoption following these procedures:
A. Application - Please complete the online application below.
B. Review - Proposals will be reviewed by the Institute's training
committee. The committee will recommend acceptance, proposed changes or
rejection. The Executive Director will forward recommendations to the Board of
Directors for final action. The Executive Director will inform the author(s) of
the Board action.
C. Post-Training Analysis - Each training program accepted for
sponsorship will be reviewed immediately following an initial instructional
session by an approved instrument provided by BICA in collaboration with the
trainer. Completed evaluations will be returned to BICA by the trainees and the
anonymous results will be provided to the trainer(s) along with any suggestions
that may relate to improving the program.
Please Note:
Proposers must provide assurance to BICA that NO other entity has proprietary
rights to the proposed program and acknowledge that any training performed under
the name of BICA will be conducted on a performance contract for services, not
as an employee of the Institute. Accepted proposers must also supply evidence of
professional liability insurance.
