Dr. Geoff Colvin
draws on his experience as a classroom teacher, both in special and general
education, school administrator, behavior consultant and research associate
at the University of Oregon.
Dr. Colvin is a nationally recognized
educational consultant who has assisted personnel in more than 200 school
districts and agencies, nationally and internationally, on the subject of
managing problem behavior, teaching challenging students and school safety
planning. He has authored and co-authored more than 80 publications
including books, book chapters, articles and video programs on teaching and
managing students who exhibit the full range of problem behavior. His video
program Defusing Anger and Aggression received national recognition
by winning the 2000 Telly Award and Communicator Award of Distinction.
Dr. Colvin has a very
special skill in being able to translate theory into practice. He is able to
present clear explanations and analyses of learning and behavior and at the
same time offer concrete examples with hands-on illustrations. He has a very
strong insightful understanding of the relationship between quality
instruction and behavior management.
