Brief Bio

Barbara Mackey is currently the teacher of the Success Program in Grand Rapids, MN. The Success Program is a level three EBD program that operates as a level four program while being housed in the Grand Rapids High School.

Ms. Mackey has a Master’s Degree of Special Education from the University of Wisconsin – Superior  and is licensed to teach elementary school, middle school English, developmental reading, learning disabilities and emotional and behavioral disorders. She has been a teacher of students with emotional and behavioral disorders for nine years and has worked with students in kindergarten through twelfth grade. Prior to teaching students with emotional and behavioral disorders, Ms. Mackey was an intermittent acting principal, a substitute teacher, and a director of a camp specifically for adults and youth with developmental disabilities with severe behavioral challenges. She began her teaching career as a Title I teacher for all grade levels.
