Beyond Evidence-based & Into Best Practices

 

Event Overview

Join us as we continue the tradition of a spring Care & Treatment Education conference in Minnesota on March 7-9, 2010. We will reunite friends and colleagues and welcome new participants in sharing information and renewing commitments to improved services for youth with challenging behaviors. You will not want to miss this opportunity for access to advanced learning, networking and visiting with exhibitors. You will also have an opportunity to see new and classic books and materials from more than 75 publishers at the discount bookstore.

Beyond Evidence-based and Into Best Practices

This conference will provide essential and practical strategies for teaching and working with challenging youth in the array and continuum of educational, mental health and juvenile justice settings. A variety of sessions are designed for PreK-12 teachers, administrators, psychologists, social workers, counselors, university faculty and others concerned with moving beyond evidence-based and into best practices to improve outcomes for troubled and troubling children and youth. Topics will include:

  • Using assessment data to determine eligibility and placement decisions

  • Mental and chemical health services
  • Effective instruction
  • Reading and literacy
  • Psychological skills training
  • Effective transition programs
  • Support and collaboration with general education teachers
  • Using data to modify intervention plans
  • Positive Behavior Intervention Support

You are invited to participate in the program of this conference as a presenter. Our priority is to provide content that focuses on innovative and best practices that demonstrate effective evidence-based strategies designed to meet the needs of students. This is an excellent opportunity to present and showcase your work to general and special education teachers, administrators, teacher trainers, alternative school personnel, and others who provide direct or indirect services to children and youth.
