2010 Indiana Annual Conference on Emotional Disabilities
Instructional & Behavioral Practices for Students with Challenging Behaviors

Event Overview

 

Join us April 15-16 for the annual spring Indiana Emotional Disabilities conference. We will reunite friends and colleagues and welcome new participants in sharing information and renewing commitments to improved services for students with ED. You will not want to miss this opportunity for access to advanced learning, networking, visiting with the exhibitors who provide services throughout Indiana and to see new and classic titles from more than 60 publishers at the discount bookstore. Your registration includes ALL sessions, meals and social events.

 

This conference will provide innovative, practical strategies for anyone in schools or agencies who works with students who present challenging behaviors. With a variety of sessions designed for PreK-12 teachers, administrators, program specialists, social workers, psychologists, counselors, university faculty, paraprofessionals and others, participants will learn proven strategies to help close social and achievement gaps including how to:

  • Develop individual and school-wide positive behavioral intervention support (PBIS)

  • Use assessment data to determine intervention strategies (RtI)

  • Identify and manage mental health issues and services

  • Support and collaborate with parents and other professionals

  • Implement instructional strategies that improve academic and behavior outcomes

  • Develop and implement effective services in residential/secure settings

You are invited to participate in the program of this conference as a presenter. Our priority is to provide content that focuses on innovative and best practices that demonstrate effective evidence-based strategies designed to meet the needs of students. This is an excellent opportunity to present and showcase your work to general and special education teachers, administrators, teacher trainers, alternative school personnel, and others who provide direct or indirect services to children and youth.
