Advanced Seminar I:
Curriculum-Based Strategies for
Social Development
This course is designed to provide teachers and others serving students with
emotional/behavioral disorders (EBD) with a variety of curriculum-based
skills to teach and promote prosocial development. While the content
includes essential behavior management competencies, the emphasis is on a
curriculum approach to remediating the personal and interpersonal skill
deficits of students with EBD.

Advanced Seminar II:
Building Productive Relationships
and Improving Existing Relationships Through Mentoring, Effective
Communication and Collaboration
For children and adolescents to
be successful, the adults working with them need to have the expertise to
develop and foster positive and productive relationships with them and with
the other adults working with them. This advanced seminar will focus on
building productive relationships with youth as well as with the other
members of the team. It will also concentrate on ways to improve existing
relationships. Mentoring others on the team will be included during this
seminar, as well as effective communication and collaboration skills.
Educational staff, social workers, community resource people, and others
interested in developing skills to use when building and improving
relationships should attend this seminar.
