Eleanor Guetzloe
Eleanor Guetzloe, Professor Emerita in Education at the University of
South Florida, was a member of the USF faculty for 33 years before her
retirement in 2001. She is a past president of both the International
Council for Children with Behavioral Disorders (CCBD) and Teacher
Educators for Children with Behavioral Disorders (TECBD). She has been a
recipient of the Council for Exceptional Children's Contributor of the
Year Award. She has also received the International CCBD Outstanding
Leadership Award and has been recognized by the CCBD Foundation by having
the CCBD Undergraduate Scholarship named in her honor.
Dr. Guetzloe is Vice President of the Board of Directors of Personal
Enrichment Through Mental Health Services (PEMHS), a not-for-profit
corporation in Pinellas County, Florida, which provides a
comprehensive array of mental health services to the county's citizens.
She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Behavioral Institute
for Children and Adolescents, a not-for-profit corporation based in
Minnesota, which provides training to special education and mental health
professionals.
Dr. Guetzloe has authored many publications in the area of
emotional/behavioral disorders and has provided training to school
districts, health and human service agencies, and professional
organizations throughout the United States and in several other
countries. Among her areas of expertise are resilience, suicide and
depression, violence and aggression, behavior management, educational
strategies, interagency collaboration, mentoring, meeting needs of gay and
lesbian youth, stress management, and United States federal law related
to special education. |
