Advisory Committee

Purpose

Advisory Committee members assist the Board of Directors by sharing information and ideas that will help to shape decisions for future activities and strengthen service options. These may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Identification of current and relevant training needs at the local, regional and or national/levels.
  2. Identification of needs within schools and/or agencies for support or resources.
  3. Identification of local, state and/or national professional resources.
  4. Identification of needs within families and meaningful support services.
  5. Identification of quality trainers as potential BICA faculty.
  6. Participation on standing or ad hoc committees*.
  7. Assistance with publicity and promotion of BICA events.

* Committees currently include: Publications, Scholarship, Conferences, Topical Training Institutes/Contracted Services, Grants & Research, Partnerships, Program/Event Promotions.

 

Application

Behavioral Institute for Children and Adolescents is currently accepting applications for Advisory Committee Members. Advisory Committee members are non-voting participants in the guidance, planning, and/or delivery of BICA activities. If you are interested in becoming a BICA Advisory Committee member, please submit an online application

 

Criteria

We are seeking Advisory Committee members who:

  • Share the BICA vision, philosophy and core values

  • Bring an expertise in an area related to the BICA mission

    - children and youth with emotional and behavioral challenges (either   professional or parental expertise)

    - non-profit organization and management

  • Provide geographic representation throughout the U.S. and world

Term and Responsibilities

Advisory Committee members will be appointed for three-year, renewable terms.

Participation provides flexible opportunities for involvement via standing or ad hoc committees. Members will contribute information and ideas primarily via e-mail and phone in response to specific requests, individual initiatives and on an ongoing basis. They may also be invited to participate in intermittently scheduled meetings. Members will further promote BICA programs and share information within their contact networks.
